In the first half of 2023, the export volume and export value of household paper increased significantly year-on-year, and the situation is good. The total export volume of household paper was 495,500 tons, an increase of 37.36%, and the export amount was 1.166 billion US dollars, an increase of 36.69%. Among them, the export volume of base paper increased the most, an increase of 63.43%, but the export of household paper is still dominated by finished paper, and the export volume of finished paper accounts for 72.6% of the total export volume of household paper products.
In terms of exports, in the first half of 2023, finished paper exports accounted for 82.7% of the total exports, the export unit price of handkerchief paper and facial tissues continued to rise, and the export product structure continued to develop toward high-end.
Import
In the first half of 2023, China's household paper’s volume of imports and value os imports decreased year-on-year, with the volume of imports about 16,700 tons. The imported household paper is mainly base paper, accounting for 81.5%.
At present, the output and product types of the domestic household paper market have been able to meet the needs of the domestic market. From the perspective of import and export trade, the domestic household paper market is mainly export-oriented, and the import volume and amount are relatively small, so the impact on the domestic market is small.
